I am a life-long student of recruiting with a passion for conversations about how every stakeholder can meet their needs for finding and succeeding at meaningful work; about technology & data that contribute to employer & candidate decisions; and, about an organizational strategy for talent management that is sustainable. CareerXroads, founded in 1995, is a premier, peer-to-peer community of TA Leaders that share unconditionally what keeps them up at night and what they are doing about it now. Members all... …care deeply about improving their recruiting strategy, technology systems and business results …share openly what works and, what doesn’t. …challenge each other to focus on measure-able outcomes. …recognize that execution, not just the idea, is what makes a competitive practice successful. We meet during the year face-to-face in small groups around the world and, in between, share and learn from one another every day, virtually. More than observing, we want to influence future staffing models to be driven by the evidence; offer candidates experiences that empower them to make better decisions in partnership with corporate selection practices; and, embed and embrace technology-based networking tools as a primary means to build 2-way candidate pipelines. In 2010, I joined with other volunteers in the industry to form TalentBoard, to oversee the Candidate Experience Awards. This 'open source' movement to continues to define, measure and honor the firms who are committed to treating candidates as partners in the hiring process (www.thecandes.org). More than 200,000 candidates from 300 participating employers completed a comprehensive survey about their treament during the hiring process in 2017. Finally, the Association for Talent Acquisition Professionals (www.ATAPglobal.org) launched in 2017 after years of discussion behind the scenes elevating what has been mostly a craft and a trade- at best a function of HR, to a stand-alone profession.
