Chanda Stebbins has competed at the highest level in both college volleyball and basketball at the University of Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in special education and a masters in student personnel in higher education both from UF. Stebbins has been coaching at Santa Fe for 16 years, holds the record for wins in a career, has won four conference coach of the year awards, and her teams have qualified for the regional tournament ten out of the last 12 years. In addition to winning four conference titles which is four more than the 15-year span prior to her arrival, she has also graduated more than 12 academic all-Americans which is more than the entire program had prior to her arrival. She works with a scholarship package that limits where her recruits can be from (three quarters of her players have to come from Sunshine state) and limits how much of their college expenses are paid -- which is different than a number of the traditional power houses in Region VIII. Yet, Stebbins has found a way to recruit players that fit the program, are successful academically, and win championships.
